Book launch: Trumped: Emerging Powers in a Post-American World by Dr.Sreeram Chaulia
Dr. Sreeram Chaulia is Professor and Dean at the Jindal School of International Affairs of O.P. Jindal Global University, Sonipat, Haryana. He launched his new book “Trumped: Emerging Powers in a Post-American World” at Center for Human Security Studies (CHSS), Dr. MCR HRDIT, Hyderabad.
The welcome address was given by Dr. Ramesh Kanneganti, after which Dr. Sreeram Chaulia talked about China’s growing influence globally superseding America’s influence and America’s decrease in global influence could lead to chaos. He also expressed his views on America’s take on terrorists during the Trump Administration. He mentioned 4 case studies in which there are 4 countries that can be seen as emerging powers and regional substitutes to the US. These countries are India in South Asia, Turkey in West Asia, Brazil in Latin America and Nigeria in Africa.
Through his book, he argues that there is no need to despair about Trump's self-goal of undermining American leadership around the world because capable rising powers in different regions can fill the vacuum left by Trump's abandonment and provide order, peace, security and prosperity in their respective areas.
This event was organized by Dr. Ramesh Kanneganti, Founder and Executive Director at CHSS. This event was co-chaired by Mr. Bhaskar Reddy, President at Andhra Pradesh Private Security Association.
