FREE ONLINE INTERNSHIP CERTIFICATION PROGRAMME, 2020 - For students from AP Policemen’s Family Welfare Society

Center for Human Security Studies (CHSS) organized a free online internship program-2020 for students from Andhra Pradesh Police Family Welfare Society in recognition of hard work and service rendered by AP Police, standing in the front-line at this time of pandemic crisis, CHSS in collaboration with AP Police has organize Certificate distribution program on 29th December 2020 at Mangalagiri Police headquarters. The Chief Guest for the event was Shri Gautam Sawang, IPS, DGP AP. The total number of students belonging to AP Police families who registered is 353 out of which 300 students participated in the program. Out of the 300 students, 250 students received certificates from the Superintendents of Police of 13 districts of AP. The students received certificates at police headquarters from Shri Gautam Sawang IPS DGP at Mangalagiri, AP.
The program empowered the students belonging to AP Police Families by educating them with critical knowledge on human security of national and international importance and helping them build soft skills. CHSS in collaboration with distinguished personalities, academicians, subject experts, bureaucrats discussed a plethora of topics in the webinar sessions. Topics included US-China relations, maritime security challenges in the Indian Ocean Region, Indo-pacific importance in international relations, evolution and significance of trade blocs like ASEAN, BRICS, and international organizations like WHO, UNICEF, UNESCO, UNHCR, etc. Women empowerment and women entrepreneurship in India, North-East insurgency, communal issues, and diplomacy & International relations were explored. Contemporary topics relating to Indo-Japan relations-way forward, Indo-US relations, Indo-china relations, Indo- Israel relations, Cybersecurity and Information security and crime theories and sociology were also covered. Such expansive and in-depth webinars by subject experts and renowned academicians have enriched students on human security issues, which will, in turn, make them more well-informed and critical decision-makers for the future.
The event started with Dr.Kanneganti Ramesh Babu, Founder & Executive Director of CHSS, introducing Shri Gautam Sawang IPS DGP AP to the participants. This event was witnessed by SPs of 13 districts and interns through a live video conference. Certificates were distributed by DGP AP to the interns. He addressed the event and shared his experience on collaboration with CHSS. As a token of appreciation, mementos were presented to dignitaries on the dais. He appreciated the efforts of the staff of CHSS and presented a certificate of appreciation to the Think Tank.
